There was a huge thunderstorm going on as we made our way to tonight?s venue but i think we managed to get there before we got too bedraggled ? and here we had cocktails ? oh and pizza and potato wedges. This is the New Asia Bar of the Swiss Hotel?
And it is 70 floors up with magnificent views over Singapore..
I make no apology for the misty views ? it did stop raining but the humidity caused a haze and it wasn?t possible to get a clear photo..
But it was such an experience ? the express lift made our ears pop
And everything on the ground below us looked like toy town
Do you need a flower for that vase Mark?
We think so!!
We had a lovely time but as darkness fell we decided to move on ?.
To Mark and Lisa?s local bar and a karaoke filled evening ? it was brilliant! I have no photos but I know there are videos ?.. somewhere
Bring on the videos!
Is that the proverbial yard of ale?
I saw a ‘yard of beer’ once, in an English pub – but never a ‘vase of lager’!!
Also, that is one very high up restaurant Kate…! Weren’t you even a teensy bit dizzy looking out of the windows? Nice photos though.
Baino – oh no let’s not!!!! I remember it sooo well!!!
Nick – I think it was the half yard it arrived in a fancy wooden holder so it could be put down …. between dainty sips of course
Geri – hate to admit it but I drank one once for a bet – and I won! No – not dizzy at all I think I spent the whole two weeks high on adrenaline and unfazed!!
Quite an experience, and quite a view! Pizza, potato wedges, and yards of beer would seem to be catering to “western tourists”, which is all fair, as we all need a bit of the taste of home when we are away from home. I trust we will see some of the local haunts you visited as well?
Cortes – It was very special – the village where I live has nothing taller than two story buildings!!!!
Great views.
