I?m home again from the holiday of a lifetime ? 12 days in this amazing place.
I?ve unpacked, done the washing and ironing and even managed to take a look at the hundreds of photos in between dealing with jetlag and going to work.
To recap I went with my lovely friend Elizabeth. Her son has lived in Singapore for twenty years and his partner is from Singapore so as you can imagine we had the best tour guides ever.
This is a shoppers heaven, but though I have some photos of the outside of the ?famous? fashion houses, my trip was a cultural one.
The photo shows maps and brochures but above all, my diary, kept faithfully every day but even then I don?t think I got everything down on paper!
I now have to match my written rambles to the photos and post them here?? watch this space!!!!!
I’ve only passed through Singapore on my way to Australia, so I look forward to your inside story of what the place is actually like. It looks as if you kept a very comprehensive diary. So what was the strangest thing about Singapore?
Looking forward to the photos Kate. Have been told the streets are very clean over there…(?!)
So that’s where you’ve been …….. sounds good …..
Sounds marvelous. I will be watching! 🙂
Welcome home.
We spent a few days in Singapore on our way back from Australia. I was only young but I remember the Tiger Balm Gardens….wonder if they are still there.
Nick – I think the strangest thing was not actually in Singapore but on a day trip to Malaysia – the ladies there wanted to have their photo taken with me – something to do with my hair colour I think – it was a tad unnerving!
Geri – thats what everyone told me when I was getting ready to go… and yes, you’re right, they are clean. Chewing gum is banned from the country which helps also the fines are huge if you litter!!!
DaddyP – no I wasn’t avoiding you see!!!! Oh it was good I had a lovely time!
Sistertex – Thank you – I just need to sort it all out I have everyone’s photos, my friend’s her son’s his partner’s and mine literally hundreds but at least I can choose the best.
Val – Thank you – I didn’t see that but I have maps!!! I think they change the place all the while to attract visitors.
Well hurry up then! I’m the same as Nick, passed through a couple of times on my way to Europe and all I remember is the oppressive heat when you hop off the plane!
Baino – patience my dear – I’m wading through loads of notes and stuff here – the heat – yes there was loads of that too!!!
