I have had a lovely weekend, Ade and I went to Caister to see his parents. They are really nice people and made us so welcome!
When we got there my ‘adopted Mum’ had made lunch for us and after that had gone down we headed for the beach.
I was a beautiful day, hot sunshine and no wind. I just had to have a paddle..
And guess what… the water was warm!!! People were actually swimming in the sea!!
Ade and his Mum stayed by the edge though – not for them sand between their toes!
We stopped at a local pub for a drink and decided we would go back there for dinner later on as they had a band on at weekends.
Well I think my glasses suit you young lady….. very Harry Potter!!!
The meal was wonderful, the band were good, amazingly so – we sang along and had such a good time!
The boys were happy…
And so were the girls…
And this morning we travelled back – it was too short a visit really but very special!!
So now I’ll get on with the ironing ready for work in the morning!!!
Thank you Vera and Mal – you are lovely people!!!!
Sounds like you had a great time! You never could resist the sea!!!
Sounds like fun times were had by all! I am envious of the blue skies.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
Looks like Oz. Where was it, Wales? I always think of English beaches as pebbles and piers.
What a lovely weekend! Loving company, sunshine and laughter – these are priceless gifts – but those 10 little piggies, scoured and tingling from their warm sea water therapy – well people pay good money in salons for that you know! You’ll be walking on air all week.
Keiron – well, you should know me by now … I taught you to paddle and that was hard work too!!! xx
Grannymar – The weather was gorgeous the whole time we were there – English sea-side at its best!!
Val – It was lovely – I haven’t been there for years.. I was reminded how many years it was during dinner!!!!
Baino – Not Wales but Norfolk near to Great Yarmouth – you’d need a very good memory to remember whether you went there before the age of 11. We have lots of sandy beaches too, but this one was a bit of both, some pebbles and some sand. All English beaches, however, can be awful when the weather is bad – which it is very often!
Geri – I love to paddle.. it has never gone away, that and the searching for shells… and yes it did my feet good!!
Wow – the sky looks so blue, love the beach too. Sounds like you had a lovely time in a very lovely place. That is great!
What a beautiful beach! I don’t know that coast of Norfolk very well. Actually, I don’t know any of the coast of Norfolk very well, except for Hunstanton, which is our nearest bit. We used to take Jim for a run on Hunstanton beach and he loved it! He jumped UP the sea wall there once, to the amazement of all.
Sounds like you had a great time!
Thanks Sistertex – yes it was blue – we don’t normally get weather like that here and if we do its never at the weekend 🙂
Jay – It was lovely … I thought of you when we were driving back down the A47!!! A greyhound jumping a wall? I can well believe it after seeing Hippie running up and down the stairs!!!
Hi Kate,
I *thought* it was you mentioning you would like ideas to help with Hippie’s chewing, but now Ican’t find the post. I was also looking for a way to send you an email instead of using the comments area. If you want to you can email me about Hippie and we can talk a little more about her chewing. I am not sure I will have ideas that you haven’t already tried… but might be something you haven’t tried yet.

I like to be beside the seaside as well …….. which is why I live on a cliff!!! …….. nice post!
Hi Kate,
There is an award waiting for you at:

Hope Hippie is well.
I like the Harry Potter glasses!
Ethelmaepotter- So do I …..I used to call them my John Lennon glasses but that was in the days ‘pre Harry’ 🙂
I would certainly be in the sea if there. Norfolk beaches much less crowded than those on the south coast.
Barbara – less crowded they may be but …. is it my imagination or is the sea-water warmer on the south coast?
